A QUICK GUIDE
Psychiatrist = medical professional specialiising in medicating mental illnesses
Clinical psychologist = nonmedical health professional trained in psychology and specialises in mental health issues, psychotherapy and behaviour management
Counsellor = a professional trained in counselling and registered with the board of counsellors (not necessarily trained in psychology) - listening and guiding people about daily stressors and problems.
Counselling psychologist = a professional trained in psychology and specialises in counselling methods to help with emotional difficulties
Any problems - look for counsellors to share first. If they can't help then perhaps a referral to the clinical psychologist or psychiatrist can help if medication is sought or needed.
