ASEXUAL / ASEXUALITY
A person who is asexual has no active sexuality and/or is not interested in having sexual relationships. Many asexuals say that they masturbate and/or fall in love and have non-sexual romantic relationships. Asexuals can be homo-/bi- or heterosexual. Many describe that they have always been asexual, some for short-term periods, while others adopt a temporary or permanent asexuality as a result of illness, medication, or injuries.
BISEXUAL / BISEXUALITY
A person who is bisexual is sexually and/or emotionally interested in both women and men. There are several ways in which an individual can identify as bisexual; some fall in love with the opposite sex and are interested in both sexes while others interests vary depending on the relationships and/or sexual experiences had over time, etc. Bisexuality is a sexual orientation.
DRAG KING
A woman who dresses up as a man with humorous intentions or for entertainment value- usually for a party or performance. It is a presentation of a gender role.
DRAG QUEEN
A man who dressed up as a woman with humorous intentions or for entertainment value- usually for a party or a performance. It is a presentation of a gender role.
FTM
”Female to Male”. This term is used to explain or clarify both the biological sex an individual has/had and what gender the individual feels that they are or considers themselves to be.
INTERGENDER / GENDERQUEER
An individual who is intergender identifies themsleves as in-between, both of, or apart from the traditional gender roles. This is a gender role identity.
INTERSEXUAL
An individual who is intersexual is someone whose sex is unclear based on sex organs or chromosomal structure. There are many different conditions and diagnoses that belong to and are grouped with this term. It is a biological syndrome.
GENDER
A person's social sex. Regarded by many as being socially and/or culturally constructed. Gender regards to the description of and consequent social ideals attached to the individual biological sexes.
HETEROSEXUAL / HETEROSEXUALITY
An individual who is heterosexual is sexually and emotionally interested in people of the opposite sex. This is a sexual orientation.
HETERONORMATIVE
Norms that are assumed when everyone is and acts in a way in which men are interested in women and women are interested in men. Anything that does not hold to this definition is considered deviant and/or abnormal. This concept can either exist consciously or nonconsciously. It is a social norm.
HOMOSEXUAL / HOMOSEXUALITY
A person who is homosexual is sexually and emotionally interested in individuals of the same sex. This is a sexual orientation.

SEX
A persons sex. A disputed concept that, for some, is defined as ”biological sex” and for others is defined as an individuals biological, as well as social and mental sex.
MTF
"Male to Female”. This term is used to explain or clarify both the biological sex an individual has/had and what gender the individual feels that they are and/or considers themselves.
PANSEXUAL / PANSEXUALITY
A person who is pansexual can be sexually and emotionally interested in ”everyone” or ”anyone”. It is regarded by some as a sexual orientation, and by others as a wider form of bisexuality in which individuals are more interested in ”personality than gender”.
QUEER / QUEER THEORY
Can be both an outlook on society in which (gender and sexuality) norms are questioned and also an identity in which an individual seeks to live a life unrestrained by these norms. This is an outlook on society and/or a lifestyle.
TRANSGENDER
A collective concept which usually refers to individuals whose sexual identity and/or sexual expression temporarily or permanently deviates from the norm that belongs to the sex that the individual was born with. Someone can only be a transperson if they themselves self-identify as a transperson. Usually dragqueens, dragkings, intersexuals, transgenders, transsexuals, and transvestites are included under this term.
TRANSGENDERIST
A person who is a transgenderist is not a transsexual, transvestite, dragqueen or dragking but has still had experiences of not being the traditional man or the traditional woman. This term can also refer to a person who has completely different definitons of sex and/or gender and to the relevance which sex and/or gender has in an individuals personality and life. This is a gender role identity.
TRANSSEXUAL / TRANSSEXUALISM
A person who feels that they are the opposite sex of the biological sex they were born with. It is a medical diagnoses and can be a type of self-identification.
TRANSVESTITE / TRANSVETISM
An individual who is a transvestite wants to sometimes, often or always dress themselves or use clothes of the opposite sex and/or other attributes with the purpose of achieving satisfaction and in some cases sexual satisfaction. It is a presentation of a gender role.
