i just want to drop my opinion. you know why people especially muslim doesnt accept gays and lesbians?because Allah says its haram. i know in your defense, you will say what's wrong in loving other people regardless their gender. but still, who are we to defy God's rule?

first of all, i would like to say that the computer inventor, whether he's gay or not, does contribute to d world by his invention. that doesnt necessarily mean that his invention brought up the gay tag to be inventive. he is a human being who contributes, so we embrace his contribution. if a gay scientist found a cure for cancer, then we embrace his finding.
having said that, u gays all have been saying, where is d democracy etc. in malaysia, we adopt a system that is 'demokrasi berparlimen'. everything must go through perlembagaan, and in it, clearly states that Islam agama rasmi negara. therefore, we use islamic way of managing the country. nontheless, as we have diverse range of ethnicity and religion, there are some spaces for others to express themselves religion-wise, so that they can contribute. We have never asked you gays to stop working and whatnot, but the way of which you chose to live by, is d total opposite of what life has given us. look at the nature; insects, fishes, animals, all of them have been meant to live with their opposite sex so that evolution can grow and diversify. yes, bacteria and viruses only replicate, divide. but if u think logically, they know that they need to prolong their existence by replicating, cell division. By being homo, do you think you will achieve that very reason of life; kemandirian species? from dna replication, to cell division, to fetal development, all could not be achieved by being homo. not a single genetic inheritance will be passed down to the next generation. or perhaps you have longed for 'cloning'? dont worry, cloning wont have any genetic variation that drives the evolution. so u can forget about that.
to satisfy urself is one thing, to be urself is one thing, but to live in this world accordingly is a whole different thing.

Dear Akmal, if you really want to know, i hope you will have an open mind in this. They are born the way they are, and not influence by anybody. Just for an example, my friend, a biological female, never feel like a girl since small. When she was just a child, looking at people's wedding, she will think,"I want to have a wife too when i grow up". even as a child, she will vry when the adults make her wear dress, and refused to go out as she felt embarrassed to dress like a girl. So, that's how she is, even before she know what is sex. I hope you will try to understand this with an open mind. Human diversity is beyond our imagination, if you are interested, you can browse for documentaries on youtube, for topics like intersex, homosexual and transgender. there are many documentaries interviewing ppl from these groups, and even medical opinion and scientist reviews. You will understand it with an open mind.
People should stop abusing the term "religion". No one really knows what God said. So what if two people of the same gender are in love with each other? As a daughter, you love your mother. As a son, you love your father. As a girl, so what if you love another girl? Love is a beautiful emotion. Being a homosexual does not mean its all about lust. Same goes for a heterosexual couple. Its about love. Its about the emotional attraction two people have for each other. Stop being so shallow and limiting love to something that only exists between two people of opposite gender.

I'm quite tickled by the irony of it all.
Look here, Anonymous 1, Shakir Afzar, Say No to SM, Malaysian, etc, here's what you're doing : you're talking about why you think being gay is wrong according to your principles and belief. And on the other side of the fence, we have Ah Kit, Nurl, Entertained and ben voicing out in defence of their belief as well. And then we have Akmal Saufi seeking to learn more and understand the situation before forming his opinion.
This is in fact, what the spirit of Seksualiti Merdeka is all about - bringing people together for a dialogue and a discussion on a topic that has to be hushed for the rest of the year. Check out the activities for SM 2011 and the previous years. Among others, there were (or would have been) discussions and talks on the issues affecting LGBTs.
One side listens to the other and then the other side responds. Hopefully with facts, figures and scriptures, not mere thumping of the tables and “God-will-punish-you-you-burn-in-hell” kind of matches. As it is in this forum, I see the pro-LGBT side quoting Wikipedia articles and international events to back their argument. To those arguing based on religion, please learn more about your own religion (and other religions as well, if you are able to), and tell us exactly where do you base your arguments on.
This is the kind of forum that Seksualiti Merdeka would want evolve into.
And ironically, the ban brings more people to talk openly on this issue. Whether or not it will lead to more understanding is debatable, but it’s a start.

I know many gay couples in love. For years, for decades. They are together not because of sex. But because they love each other.
If you can't comprehend that because you are straight, fine. But try to be compassionate at least. There IS homosexual love, even among the animal world.
This is a very big world. Not so easy to box people up into a few compartments.
